The Stock Market Put Simply
Great question lets keep this simple,
The Stock Market, is similar to our picture a food market. Just like a food market is a place where you can buy and sell goods. The stock market is where you are buying and selling parts of a particular company.
Lets give an example: Amazon, Amazon was started by Jeff Bezos in 1994. In the year 1997 took the company public. This means started selling shares on a market exchange in this case the NASDAQ.
The benefit of being listed on exchange would be the same as in a grocery market. More investors who are really just shoppers can come and decide if they wan to purchase a part of the company. Obviously just like all purchases at higher end stores, a higher end exchange will carry a premium price tag.
Now remember like shopping hype trend style etc. will have an affect on the price. There is something to shopping at the brand name stores you can get ripped off but your are more likely to be successful. Lower exchanges you can find real deals easier but lose easier just remember the store analogy with a mix in an open flea market Shuk.
